Halloween 2012

I think it has taken me all week to recover from our Halloween festivities.  I dressed up as a very avant-garde queen of hearts and went to a costume party at the Science Museum with friends on Friday.

Saturday was pumpkin patch day, and worthy of its own post.

Sunday we hit up the last day of Boo at Zoo. Nandini and Avinash dressed up in their Steeler's jerseys.

Tuesday I painted there faces and took them to the Haunted Mansion at the Children's museum.  Avi requested an orange monkey face. Nandini had no choice and got a pumpkin face. I love the way they turned out! At least until Nandini replaced most of her makeup with chocolate face paint instead. Nice.

Wednesday was the big day and things got a bit crazy. After school I decided to take them trick or treating before naps.  That was an interesting combination to say the least. By the time they fell asleep it was time to get them up again to get ready for the next party.

We met up with friends for their church's carnival. This time I painted Avi as a multicolored monkey wearing a monster costume. Nandini got some blue arrows and a saffron scarf to be Ang, the Avatar.  We couldn't find a glider and forgot the lemur at home.  Oh well. I was super excited when at least one person recognized her costume.

When we got home we stopped by Justin's place so the kids could ring one real doorbell and shout trick or treat. Not that Nandini can really say that. But she is definitely serious about getting her fair share of candy.  Avinash was so delighted to be really trick or treating and kept asking where the next party was.  Justin was super sweet about the whole thing and invited us up for cookies and more candy corn.  It was a long month of fun. I loved seeing it all.  Plus, picking all of my favorites out of the bags doesn't hurt either.

    1. Thanks Anandi! I think that spot in the museum has some of the best light ever. (Standing up on the facepaint bench for any curious Houstonians)
