December Daily

I'm so excited about this project!!  This is my first year doing it and my second 'mini book' after my October Daily (which still isn't finished, but who's keeping track?).  Strictly speaking I am including all the winter holidays so it is not technically a December only album.  I wanted to include our Diwali celebrations as well, and figured I might as well put Thanksgiving in too since that is when we actually get the time to visit family.

I am using this 8x8 chipboard AC album in lime green (available in red here).  I want to use mostly a lime green, bright red and turquoise color scheme.  I got some extra 8x8 page protectors (50% off, woohoo!) to fill it out.  The 4x6 pages from my SC kit fit in here too luckily.

I used a couple KP stamps on the cover.  I embossed the front with gold glitter.  I wanted to add a little flair on there, so I embossed this die cut snowflake with white glitter to layer underneath.   I stuck both on with a pop dot.  Then I scattered some wood veneer stars around and adhered them with glossy accents to keep them more stable.  I added this vellum happy holidays sticker.  I didn't want a really definitive title, so this worked well for me.

I put red seam binding around the cover.  I love how ribbon looks around a present in a christmas movie, where it looks like one piece, but the lid is wrapped separately.  I copied this on my album and folded the red ribbon onto the inside.  Seam binding is great because it sticks much easier than regular ribbon.  I just used my regular glue runner to adhere it.

Last I stamped the spine and added a few more stars.

I have started to put a few things inside too.

I stitched a doily onto the page protector with some gold thread used some gems to write Om.

I put an old, old making memories sticker on the back.  I think it's still pretty.

I love full page photos.  Much easier to do at this size.

I made a few pages about Diwali so far.  I put a hambly transparency in between just for fun.   These  pages mostly use One Story Down goodies.  I also used  glossy red thickers for the title and added a little gold star washi here and there.

I stuck this gap gift card holder in there because I think it will be fun to fill the insert up with photos or journaling.  This santa note is from Macy's.  Avi keeps putting his notes in the mailbox, but maybe I can get him to write one at home.

That is all I have for now. Check out my progress and all December Daily posts here.

 How is your December going?

So far, we have finished putting up the tree at my parents house.  I really never need to shop again.  I already had lights up here for Diwali and I just got a mini tree at the grocery store for our apartment.  I bought some dollar spot ornaments and now have plans to gussy those up with glitter and make a cotton ball garland. I also have to start filling out our holiday cards.  I hate that chore so much!  Turns out Minted will do it for you for free, sweet!  Don't forget about the $25 credit you can get for new customers.  Make sure to take advantage of the special Affiliate Holiday Card discount this week! 18. GREAT cover! LOVE the idea of using the ribbon. I'm not using a kit for mine- but scraps and bits from past winter themed pages. Love your idea to use the store tags as pages!
