Project Life: this&that

Two months down and ten to go! Still having so much fun with this project.

This week: Is honestly a bit of a jumble.  I included a few Day in the Life pictures.  I know that Ryan was out of town for a bit, I went to school for Grandfriend's day, we went to the park to see the azaleas over the weekend.  We had a conference with his teachers at some point, but not sure if it was the same week.  Oh well, into the pocket it goes.

Page one: I used quite a few Studio Calico kit cards and a Creative Bubble printable for journaling.  I made the die cut polaroid frame, there is some photo log washi layered on one side because the photo was a bit too small.  The neon pink I love you card is from the Holiday pop up shop, I added a few wood veneer hearts on top for texture.  The photo next to it is from the park, I used a Valentine's crate sticker and some holiday OA washi tape.  Yay for using up some seasonal items!  The bottom photo is from Day in the Life, the font is Neo Retro Shadow and Fill layered on top.  I have a lot of fun making flair from printables, especially since I got a 1 inch circle punch.  I used my new tiny attacher to, well, attach a bunch of them here.

I misted several wooden speech bubbles.  Unlike chipboard, I love how wood takes the color without any sort of priming.  The black is Heidi Swapp and the red is SC (on sale, I know they keep coming out with new ones, but the colors rarely change that much, so I always look for a discount on these).  I also trimmed a dear Lizzy charm bit and added it to a photo, Avinash is setting up a trail and Nandini is following along and removing everything, ha!

I had to include what Avi wrote on his card to us at school.  The line "Mom and Dad I care about you" got me a little choked up as I read it.

Side two: More SC cards, a sea foam card and filler from Creative Bubble.  I used a MS punch on the edge of one card.  It is double sided, so it should look cute when I flip it over too.  On the top photo I trimmed an Elle's Studio card for the journaling and added some JBS letters and a few more wood veneers

How awesome is that SC wood veneer card??  I wish they sold them in packs!  I added a few dear Lizzy stickers (which I've also been hoarding, the gold foil is just so pretty).  The card was too lovely to mess with!

I added a few new dear Lizzy banner stickers and the journaling in white letter stickers. I use these (Jillibean Soup) and Basic Grey ones a lot, but these are my fave. The pack includes a tons of vowels and seems to have the perfect size for PL cards.

Let me know if you have any questions. Linked up with The Mom Creative for Project Life Tuesday. The PL kits I am using are the Seafoam kit and Clementine kit, with multi-pack page protectors, and grid journaling cards. Thank you so much to everyone in this wonderful community. I love all the feedback and looking at everything people do each week. It definitely keeps me motivated. Also, please include a link to your projects below so we can check them out too!

  1. Ha ha!! Look who succumbed and bought a tiny attacher for herself!! Isnt it the absolute best tool? :)

I am glad I enabled. And your PL spread is beautiful this week. Colorful and fun!

And whoever invented the day light savings concept - clearly did not have toddlers and preschoolers at home. :p

    1. Yes, you totally enabled me. At least I want to say I used a coupon I think... And, for the record, it is no where near as powerful as my regular office stapler. Still cute though.

  2. It won't br long until the Tiny Attacher is your favourite tool. I love the way you coloured your veneer. It makes me feel much better to know others are not getting too stressed about everything being definitely being in the right week. I have had a couple of events which I was sure happened in the week only to find I was wrong. At least it was around that time, right?

  3. So funny you mentioned that you prefer wood to chipboard because you don't have to prime it- I'm investigating that very issue right now- some Sc colors like red don't need priming but if you want to use white I would go for pigment ink or acrylic paint. I like to use both chipboard and veneer naked because I love how the lasers burn the back of the design- if it's a shape I usually turn it over and use the back. Beautiful spread! Those SC PL kits are so adorable. I'm about to tart on my own first page for 2013- wish me luck- I gave up on week 6 last year.

    1. I love the laser burns too! I did read about acrylic white paint on your blog. Going to have to try that out as well. Good luck on your PL, you can do it!

  5. Another great layout. I love all the energy and personality you convey. I just saw those same veneer speech bubbles at Michaels for 50% off. I almost bought some but their line was too long. They look adorable. I may have to go back.

  6. Hello!! I love love this weeks pages again, you have a style like no other and I always love it!! So pretty and heartfelt writing, always a favorite of mine.

Read your other posts too and first HUGS and LOVE for those bad days when the kids aren't good. It is a difficult time and us moms need lots of patience and counting to 10 helps sometimes. Hang in there, from what I see your kids are pretty amazing and happy all the time. Thanks for sharing that with us, we need all the support we can get at times like this. Just wait till he's a teen, they are louder and moody most of the time, ha!

I love love the layout and feather idea, it is so pretty. Love that you took a self timer of you 3 on the floor with it, see how cool you are. I for one don't let blurry/dark/out of focus photos bother me, to each their own I say. it's the story that I like and want to remember. I honestly think the dark picture with the fire glowing looked great and told the story. But I can see how the daytime photo is easier to see and looks better. Whichever makes you happy is what counts.

Saw and LOVE your other projects and spinner invitations!! you are one creative and fun mom, so awesome for you and the kids.

Thanks so much for the visit to my blog, love reading your comments. I just got my week 10 up and it was fun for me. Like having some green in there for this new month.

Enjoy your day and sending you hugs and prayers!
