Project Life: kite festival

This spread came together surprisingly quickly.  I went to a crop and actually managed to finish the whole thing there (that is a first for me!).   I used a lot of Paislee Press and Seafoam project life cards this week.

This week: We had friends over for brunch and a play date. We went to the museum and the zoo after school.  And we went to a huge kit flying festival outside of Houston.  It was amazing and can't wait for the next one in March.  At first glance it looks like these few things dominate the spread, but I also snuck in some random pics around the house of playing the guitar, flowers on my desk and snuggling in the morning.

Page one: This side is all kites and zoo pictures.  I put a bit of aqua glitter tape under the wood speech bubble.  The paper is from the Echo Park photo freedom line.  I like the colors and having more 4x6 options, but the patterns are on such a large scale they are hard to work into a spread.
I cut around the label in a seafoam card to slip the picture underneath.  I just used some JBS black stickers to say where we are.  I wrote directly over the cow picture to talk about how scary Nandini though it was.

I took a picture of a checklist Avinash wrote and shrunk it down to fit in a 3x4 pocket.  I traced over the letters with my MS glue pen and added red glitter.  Love how it turned out!

I trimmed a painting Nandini made for one pocket.  She calls colors 'daddles' so I had to include that (in gold glitter no less). I added an OA label sticker and wooden SC star

Adding text to photos is so addictive.  This font is peach sundress (also free!).

Page Two: I fussy cut around another journaling card to slip in the picture of Avi with the eagle.  He is so interested in it, I find it so endearing.  Added the title with wood veneers alphas.  I had printed out a sheet of wallet sized photos just to make my life easier.  I glued one down here on a seafoam black striped card.  Really loving how black and white look in the spreads.  The journaling card next to it is paislee press, with a heart this stamp, a little washi and freckled fawn wood arrow.

Love these little BG flag pins.  Love even more that I found a place to use them.  I think I would have hoarded that rainbow one for a long time..  It was so amazing to see the sky filled up with so many clouds, the picture just doesn't do it justice.  Filling in this seafoam card was fun.  I borrowed a friend's PL stamp and wrote in the rest.  The flag is glued on top of the page protector.

Let me know if you have any questions. Linked up with The Mom Creative for Project Life Tuesday. The PL kits I am using are the Seafoam kit and Clementine kit, with multi-pack page protectors, and grid journaling cards. Thank you so much to everyone in this wonderful community. I love all the feedback and looking at everything people do each week. It definitely keeps me motivated. Also, please include a link to your projects below so we can check them out too!

  3. Love your pages! A couple of things I see here that I now need to try - adding text to photos before I print them and writing on top of the photo. Love how this turned out! Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. Looks like you had a really fun week! Like all your flag accents. I'm linking up my PL but it is traditional scrapbooking not the kit. If that isn't ok, let me know.

  7. I love how you trimmed a 4x6 seafoam title card down to use in a 3 x 4 slot! I'll definitely be adding that trick to my basket :)

  9. I love adding kids' artwork into PL and am resolving to do this more often with my own PL. I would also love to start including little handwritten notes to my kids to read when they're older and looking through these albums. Such a great spread this week :)

  14. I love Nandini's daddle. Wonderful idea to document her kid slang. They move on to the "correct" words too quickly.
The kite festival looks like lots of fun. Would you believe I have never flown a kite? I should really do something about that.
