December Daily | Day 14 Peace & joy

Here I documented some photos I took with Lakshman around the house and around town. 

I wanted to try combining stamping and embossing on the journaling card here.  The facing page has a 3x4 card in that spot, so I cut the card to match it and added a hole reinforcer. 

My first attempt at stamping didn't go that well. I dropped the stamp.  I tried everything I could to erase that mark but it showed through so badly. 

Luckily I was able to peel off that confetti pretty easily and transferred it to a blank card.  I kept the sentiment from the card. 

I am actually glad that the first card got ruined.  I restamped on the blank card in glass slipper, a very nice light blue.  It's so beautiful with the gold embossing.

I added one of those little rubber circles to the second card.  So cute and just the perfect size.  I used a little gold label for my journaling.

Cocoa Daisy | December Kit Moments Layouts and Video

This month's kit features lots of dreamy blues and bright pinks.  There are exclusive papers and stamps from the fabulous Leah Riordan of Mommyish and new designs from Pink Paislee and Crate Paper's latest lines.

Brave || I just loved this map patterned paper and fussy cut the states out of it.  Then I traced PA (my former home) and TX (my current home) out on two photos.  I used the gold baker's twine to trace a path between these two states and highlight the journey.  

I cut the paper down to 9x12 to help with the pattern from becoming too overwhelming.  I used my typewriter to tell my story.   Love getting the chance to tell a longer story now and then.  The title letters were fussy cut from another patterned paper. 

Moments || The exclusive vellum letters were just too perfect.  I am really proud of myself for not hoarding them either.  I kept my page pretty simple here otherwise.  A shipping tag, with journaling on the diagonal.  A few die cuts and a little askew frame layered under my photo. 

DITL || Finally I created two project life pages.  These are the photos from the end of November that didn't quite make it into my December Daily yet, and also the closing pages for my project life album for the year.  It feels so good to get my album done for another year.

December Daily | Day 13

I love all of the little games the kids play with their advent toys.  They are working out way better than I hoped.  Little invitations to play everyday.  To spend time together.  To turn off the screens.  To have fun.  To use their imagination.

I included a mix of random photos, starting with some red cup pictures and filling in from there.

December Daily | Day 12 Capitol Tree Lighting

Every year Austin does a really fun downtown stroll, with a Holiday Sing-a-long and Tree Lighting.  We decided to brave the rain and go this year like always but we were lucky enough to find no rain and no crowds! 

I clipped a large cork number three (this event took place on December 3rd this year) and slipped it in a 3x8 page protector.  I love stacking up pages in progressively increasing sizes.  

On the back I added another star and little label. I punched holes in the card being handed out at the event.  

That airmail stripe around the edge? C'mon! You know I was saving it.  

The card is 4x6 and the perfect size to fit an extra photo on the back.  I felt like I needed to include a little more about Avinash right now.  His happy face while drinking hot cocoa was great.  He wants to be older and more mature so badly that he hides his happiness sometimes.  It is good to see him letting his guard down once in a while.

Lakshman on the other hand is all about fun!  He was thrilled when I asked him if he wanted to see a firetruck.  

"I go in a firetruck. That'a be FUN!"

Like, of course I want to go in Mom.  How is that even a question?

December Daily | Day 11 Another Santa

We braved the rain this day to go see Santa at the Botanical Gardens. Look at Lakshman eager to talk to Santa Claus.  This was even before he knew about the candy canes. 

I did another full page photo with some typed journaling.  I added wood veneer stars and a chipboard arrow.

I added a 2x2 divided page on the other page.  I had too many pictures of his cute expressions.  I wanted to include them all.

I loped off the edge of the cork 3 and put it in a 3x8 pocket here.

December Daily | Day 10 Zilker Botanical Garden

I took a lot of inspiration from Ali Edwards on this page.  I absolutely loved her flip up page on day 3 and emulated that idea here.  

Today I was documenting December 2nd.  On this day I took a picture out of the bedroom window looking out at the tree.  

I printed out the photo twice and cut out the door way to make a flap. I added a little sticky file tab to the side. 

 Inside I cut out a window in the doorway.  Ha. 

I taped a picture of Lakshman at the Botanical Gardens.  Ryan loved how it looked like he was running off through the door and off on an adventure. 

I backed the flap with patterned paper and one of the printed tickets from the main kit.

I used the patterned paper on the other side of the spread.   I just washi taped the photos on to it. 

Love the little typed captions and quotes.

December Daily | Day 9 Snow

Documenting a few different Anthropologie trips today.  It is my happy place! The mall is just way too stressful for me.  But in here it always feels like bliss. 

I even won a prize there on Black Friday.  Had to include that in here!

We love the fake snow! I did a little photo flip up in this pocket. 

I added some Heidi Swapp gold snowflakes on this card from the main kit.

December Daily | Day 8 Wild

Two cute little stories about my wild boys.  Look at Avinash with that snake!

I got these gold glittery alphas from the Target dollar spot.  I added the red letter stickers from an old Kelly Purkey set.  They are so perfect for December Daily.  I just hand journaled today.  The journaling card pattern is from the Pam Garrison mini kit.

December Daily | Day 7 Craft Houses

Nandini and I made the cutest little house together.  You know that had to go in the scrapbook. 

I photographed the house on a white background so I would have space to tell the story.  Without doing templates this year, added some typed journaling really helps. 

I added typed journaling about the width of a large chipboard "H" for house, or Hecker.  I added another little rubber circle and some red stars all in line with the journaling.

Love this white star transparency.  

The next half of the spread is just my wreath which I made myself.  I added the date in white chipboard, with another transparency behind it in white chevron.
